This past weekend, our team attended the New England District Championships in the Agganis Arena in Boston. We competed with the top 64 teams in New England. The experience was amazing, as we were able to see teams exemplify their competitive spirit and the true values of FIRST both on and off of the field. Going into the competition, we were ranked 31st in New England. We had a couple of setbacks and some bad luck and finished the competition with a record of 4 wins and 8 losses. One highlight was our Safety team won Safety Star of the day on Saturday. When the competition ended, we finished 43rd out of 209 teams in the New England District. The top 38 teams were given invitations to the FIRST World Championship. We thought our season was over, however a couple of teams who ranked above us declined their invitation allowing us to move up and get invited! The team will be traveling to Detroit, MI next week where teams from around the world will be competing. The competition will be taking place at the Cobo Convention Center, and the awards ceremony at Ford Field, from April 25th to April 28th.
