Week 1 of build season is officially complete, and the energy is high as ideas start turning into reality. This is the week where plans take shape, teamwork is tested, and the foundation for everything ahead is set.

Mechanical:

Our Mechanical Team has been working diligently on the prototypes for this season. Hitting the ground running, we began CAD-ing a prototype turret launcher for this year’s challenge. In under a week, we moved from initial CAD concepts to a physical prototype, turning our ideas into reality. Our mechanical team is actively working with our software team on troubleshooting, testing, and refining the design.

Software:

Our Software Team has been working hard through coding and refining our turret launcher to accurately and consistently deliver game pieces to our intended targets. Through extensive testing, debugging, and iteration, they have continued to improve the system’s reliability and performance.

Besides the turret, they dedicated significant time to improving the drivetrain — the base of the robot — organizing wiring and preparing for additional upgrades. They are also beginning to integrate cameras to support vision on the robot. In addition, the subteam updated team equipment by bringing all programming laptops up to date and refreshing older robots so components can be reused or serve as backups if needed.

Operations:

Throughout the week, our operations team focused on documenting and organizing the team’s progress. They collected photos, videos, and updates from all the subteams to create media for all our social platforms and materials used in sponsor outreach. This work helps showcase our progress throughout the season and ensures sponsors can see the impact of their support. In addition, the operations team began designing and producing pins for the upcoming competition season.
In just the first week, we have made significant progress and are excitedly looking forward to the rest of the season.
