The 2017 season's game is FIRST STEAMworks. The objective the game is to score more points than your opposing alliance.Teams of three compete to score fuel into the alliance's boiler. Both low and high goals are available within the boiler. Teams must also place gears within their airship to activate the rotors for more steam fuel! In the last 30 seconds, robots must hang onto a rope which is released and must touch a touchpad to claim all of the points earned.

After careful consideration and a six week build season, the final product was "Boxtop," our robot. This robot's major function was to collect gears from the human player station, and deliver them to the pegs on the airship. The robot also had the capability to collect gears that had fallen onto to the playing field. "Boxtop" was also a prolific climber, and made amazing feats throughout the season. Our robot used shifting gear boxes in order to maneuver around the playing field at an efficient rate. The robotic could travel at a speed of up to 15 feet per second.
