2022 NE District ChampionshiP SUMMARY and WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QualifICATION

This past weekend, Team 4909 competed in the New England District Championship in Springfield, MA. Beginning on Thursday, the team competed in 12 qualification matches. For the first time in our team’s history, we had the opportunity to be in the playoffs at this event, ranking 7th in the Calcium division at the end of qualification matches, and becoming the 5th seed alliance captain. After a season of hard work, the team successfully scored 5 cargo during the autonomous period of the match, a 15-second period at the start of the match during which the robot is programmed to function without assistance from the drivers. We were also able to surpass the mid and high rungs and climb up to the traversal rung for the first time in a match!

​Unfortunately, we did not receive any awards, but we did not leave disappointed as before we left, we received some incredible news: Team 4909 has officially qualified for the 2022 FRC World Championship! The World Championship will take place beginning Thursday, April 21st through Saturday, April 23rd in Houston, Texas. We are beyond grateful and excited for this opportunity, and cannot wait to compete later this week with teams from all over the world!
