FIRST World championship 2024

​On April 17-20, Team 4909 competed in the FIRST World Championship at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, TX. 

​In the time between the District Championship and Worlds, the team set out to build an entirely new robot combining positives from their previous robots along with several new upgrades, donning the name Black Mamba. 

​Like previous events, the match structure is composed of qualification matches, followed by a double-elimination playoff bracket within each of the 6 divisions. The winners of each division funnelled into the final division, aptly named the Einstein Division. At the end of qualifications matches, Team 4909 placed 11th of 75 in the Hopper Division. During alliance selection, they picked by the 3rd seed alliance, consisting of captain Team 180 - S.P.A.M., Team 3357 - COMETS, and Team 108 - SigmaC@T Robotics. Overall, Team 4909 reached semi-finals.

​Team 4909 is grateful for all the support they received through this incredibly successful season and could not be happier with the outcome of this competition. They are excited to dive deep into the next season, “REEFSCAPE”.
